Jerry W. Ward, Jr., an independent scholar, lives and writes in New Orleans. He is the author of THE KATRINA PAPERS: A Journal of Trauma and Recovery (2008), Fractal Song: Poems (2016) and Blogs and Other Writing (2018). He taught for 32 years at Tougaloo College and 10 years at Dillard University. His work in progress is a study of Richard Wright's creative imagination.
