Joyce Kornblatt is the author of five novels, shorts stories, reviews and essays. She has received an O.Henry Award, an Atlantic First Prize, a grant from the National Endowment from the Arts, a DH Lawrence Ranch Fellowship, and the Towson Literary Award for Fiction. For 25 years, she was Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Maryland. In 2003, she moved to Australia, where she lives with her husband in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. In addition to her work as a writer, she is a Buddhist meditation teacher and a retired psychotherapist. She lives and works at the intersection of creativity, contemplation, and healing as interdependent human processes.
